Background:

Scope of Work:
The Driver will work in Aden office under the supervision of the Maritime and Transport Operations Officer He/she is responsible for the safe transportation of IRC Personnel, IRC materials and the care and maintenance of IRC Vehicle.
Key Competencies:
- Minimum two years’ work as a professional driver
- No road safety-related fines or convictions Thorough knowledge of road rules and regulations
- Skills in routine vehicle maintenance and minor repair
- Knowledge (or ability to quickly learn) of HF, VHF and satellite communications equipment
- Team spirit and problem solving abilities
- Able to carry out limited, un-supervised tasks
- Drivers must display an attitude and behavior that reflects well on both themselves and the IRC.
Key Result Areas
- Strict adherence to the IRC’s vehicle policies and procedures, including the use of seatbelts by all passengers.
- Daily and pre-long distance vehicle checks. Accurate upkeep of the vehicle’s log sheet.
- Maintaining the vehicle clean, fuelled and mechanically sound.
- Inspecting and maintaining all vehicle accessories.
- Advising the Transport officer of pending inspections, insurance renewal or any defects or problems.
Required qualification and experience
- Knowledge of generic procurement procedures and practices (IRC or NGO experience advantageous) for 2 years.
- Familiarity with major donor and local regulations / laws advantageous.
- Holder of Diploma or equivalent in purchasing, supplies and management or Business Administration
- Competent in spoken and written English
- Competent use of PC especially spreadsheets.
Key Result Areas
- Provision of effective, procurement service
- Compliance to the donor requirements and IRC procedures
- On time, standard monthly reports to SCM
- Generate and / or maintain comprehensive price list for goods, services and equipment’s purchased by IRC
- Produce routine cash / payment projections / Commitments to SCM and Finance.
